There are multiple stories that surface very fathers day and are told by Christian fathers to their children to remind them of the love of Christ for his children but one seems to be paramount.
The tale of the prodigal son is a vast reminder to all of us of the love of a father for his child, and that the child can essentially do anything at all and not lose the love of his father. This story has become the quintessential Christian fathers day story. The son leaves his home with all of his funds and wants to go off to see the world. He is gone for a lengthy time, spends all of his money on things which are not healthy for him or for his body, while the other son remains at home dutifully giving his best.
When the prodigal returns the son who remained at home wonders why the father has taken him back and why he did not send him back out into the world penniless and hungry. The father explains that regardless of what his son has done, he is still his son and that he will always love and care for him, and make sure that he has what he needs.
The essence of a Christian father is at the heart of this, one of the most popular stories.
The father in heaven has given us an example to go by. His love is unswerving, steadfast and sure. No matter what our transgressions are, that love will be waiting for us when we are ready to return to it. Christian fathers day stories are an important part of illustrating for our children that we will always be there for them. We will always be willing to take them back no matter what our faults or our sins, in the same way that God will always be willing to take them back, regardless of what we do, so long as we are willing to admit our faults and come back to him with an open heart.
Christian fathers, as with any father, are saddened by the faults and sins of their children but they do not let those things harden their hearts so that they are unwilling to be open to the needs of their children. They will always be a part of the Christian father’s life and always hold his love, because they are part of the family, but more, because they are imprinted on their hearts. Christian fathers day stories let them know this and can alleviate their concerns.
Christian fathers day stories illustrate this endless love, letting the child know that no matter what, no matter when, if you come home again, you will always be welcomed back into the fold, in much the same way that the prodigal son was welcomed back home so many years ago.
